JOEL: Listen, my phone is blowing up, you know. And for people that have not been doing direct mail for a while and they’ve been sticking to the lower end digital leads.
LIRAN: Yeah, it’s a – I mean, it’s a big issue because we would get push back in the last – especially in the last few years, we get, you know, pushback from prospects who would say things like, “Why would I deal with a truck with gasoline prices, and paper prices and paper when the paper mills are shutting down? And all this when I could just pay an offshore call center just to call 100 million people and, you know, maybe 50,000 of them are actually responsive?”
0:00:43 – 0:01:07
Well, I mean, the answer to that is because you – People don’t want that. And the government is, well, cracking down on it –
JOEL: Basically cracking down on a law. There was a law. Right? Right now, I mean, with the one to one. The opt-in has to be for the product that they are calling.
LIRAN: Yeah. Yeah.
JOEL: That’s a big change
LIRAN: That’s honestly devastating
JOEL: Huge change.

LIRAN: Because it eliminates – not only does it eliminate the ability for a company to do this on their own, it also takes a lot of possible, you know, supply of data off of the market. Right? Because if you’re one broker who generates a lead and you, you know, it costs you, let’s say, $50 to generate a lead, that you then turn around and sell to 500 different companies for a few pennies.

Maybe you could be profitable. Not at that rate, but you get what I’m saying, right? If all of a sudden you can’t sell that except for the one product that that person responded to and for the one company that that person responded to well that lead is a $50 lead.
JOEL: Yeah.
LIRAN: That’s what it costs you. And your return on that investment is not likely. If, you know. No company can afford to pay you know $50 on leads that convert at a rate of less than 1%.
