In celebration of Earth month, our DK Solutions team is thrilled to announce our Annual Tree Planting Program contribution for 2025.
This year, our company will be donating 1,500 new trees to One Tree Planted’s Forest Fire Reforestation initiative as part of our ongoing tree replacement efforts.
These new trees will be planted in areas across the nation that have recently been devastated by local wildfires to help restore lost habitats and prevent future outbreaks.
Our Annual Tree Planting Program
As a direct mail marketing company, our day-to-day operations include launching hyper-targeted campaigns to generate high-quality leads for our clients.
One of the primary reasons that we developed our TargetList methodology was to reduce the amount of waste in direct mail campaigns, and by extension reduce the amount of paper used for them.
In 2022, our CEO Joel Dickstein and COO Liran Kapoano launched the DK Solutions Annual Tree Planting Program to give back to the environment through reforestation efforts across the country.
In partnership with One Tree Planted, our company has made the active choice to give back to some of our nation’s most at-risk areas.
“This year everyone I think was pretty shocked and rocked by the Los Angeles wildfire outbreak which was just hard to wrap your head around. This is on the backs of a couple years ago [with] the terrible fires in Maui.” said Liran Kapoano, Co-Founder & COO of DK Solutions. “So we decided that would be the place to send our donation this year to replace trees that were lost to wildfires.”
Our annual tree program calculates the number of trees we used over the past year for our direct mail campaigns. That number is then tripled to determine our yearly contribution.
This calculation helps us replant three trees for every one tree we use, so that instead of just restoring what was lost, we end up with twice the amount of trees in the wild.
Not only does this mean our company operates as a net positive for the environment, but it also means our continued success is a huge win for our nation’s forests. As DK Solutions continues to grow, so does the number of trees that take root every year.
Partnership with One Tree Planted
Since its establishment in 2014, One Tree Planted has orchestrated over 135.5 million replanted trees worldwide.
Thanks to their efforts, over 292,864 acres have sprouted across 82 countries as part of their ongoing initiative to uphold local wildlife, increase food security, and build sustainable habitats for our planet’s forests.
This non-profit takes several steps before breaking ground, including intensive preliminary research and planning for each reforestation site, as well as frequent monitoring and evaluations long afterward to report new growth.
Celebrating over 10 years in operation, One Tree Planted has certainly made a positive direct impact on our planet’s forests and ecosystems. While they continue their mission of reforestation, our team also focuses inward to see how DK Solutions can also help our country’s forests.
Why the Forest Fire Fund?
Forest fires are a constant threat to our local ecosystem, and historical trends seem to indicate an increased risk of wildfire incidences in the upcoming years.
This alarming development is typically due to many factors, such as human action, weather conditions, disease, and insect infestation.
Wildfires do not only burn down forests, but they also pose a threat to the residents and wildlife. Air pollution and water pollution from wildfires can also create long-lasting consequences on local populations even years after a fire has been quenched.
The US Forest Service also notes that post-fire restoration can take multiple years. Hazard tree mitigation, removing fire-damaged trees, and habitat rehabilitation are just some of the many endeavors required to bring a forest back to its former glory.
Multiply these efforts every time a severe wildfire devastates an area, and resources are easily stretched thin across the country!
Thankfully, these reforestation attempts are not in vain. With careful planning, these actions can reduce future wildfire risk, insect infestations, and other disease outbreaks.
While the fight is never over, there are many ways to promote a healthy ecosystem that encourages new growth for future generations.

2024 – 2025 Forest Fires
One does not have to stray far off the beaten path to see the direct impact forest fires can have on a local community. In 2024, New Jersey witnessed its share of wildfires following its worst drought in 22 years with 9’’-11’’ total rainfall from August to November.
On Nov 9th, 2024, the state issued a red flag fire warning in response to a raging wildfire spanning from Passaic County, NJ to Orange County, NY. The Jennings Creek wildfire burned through an estimated 4,700+ acres across the two states in a week.
“When conditions become this dry, the simplest things can start a wildfire,” said State Forest Fire warden and Chief of the Forest Fire Service Bill Donnelly, in an Oct 2024 statement. “In my 30-year career with the Forest Fire Service, I can’t recall a time when we faced such a prolonged period of dry weather with no relief in sight.”

The same October statement notes that NJ experienced over 900+ wildfires burning through 6,700 acres over the past year.
The most notable cluster of wildfires, however, is undoubtedly the LA wildfires that swept through California this past January. According to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, there have been 600+ reported wildfires raging across the state of California this year.
These wildfires began Jan 7th in the Pacific Palisades and Eaton, but the blustering winds helped carry these fires across the state at speeds up to 60 miles per hour.
Tragically, these wildfires claimed dozens of lives and caused an estimated $130+ million in damages – the costliest wildfire in U.S. history.
As parts of the LA region begin to rebuild during this time of crisis, there is still the question of reforestation and preventative measures that are currently being brought to the state’s attention.
Our Contributions
As wildfires continue to rage throughout many parts of the country, there comes a time when local efforts need to step up to help restore our nation’s most at-risk areas. That is why our Co-Founders believe so deeply in the cause of global reforestation.
As DK Solutions also approaches its 10th anniversary, Dickstein and Kapoano have been reflecting on the company’s past successes and hopes for the future.
“As natural disasters like wildfires, insect infestations, and disease continue to endanger our native forests, reforestation is needed now more than ever.” said Joel Dickstein, Co-Founder & CEO of DK Solutions. “Tree planting in the right place, at the right time can change the current trajectory of our forests within our nation. Once again I am proud of DK Solutions continued partnership in this cause with One Tree Planted.”
While the future remains unknown, one thing remains clear: DK Solutions holds strong against adversity to deliver both direct mail and a better world for generations to come.
