AKASH: One of the things which I’ve been seeing a lot of – not a lot of people are familiar with direct mail as a whole. I have found that there are two types of mailer – mail campaigns that we do. One is brand awareness and the other is targeted.

JOEL: When we talk about products with the brand is to get it in their face. They may not purchase something right away, right? It sits at something that sometimes like on the political mail, it sticks on their refrigerator like a reminder. We’ve done some of the political mail, the reminders for elections and all that.

AKASH: And then also one thing I want to add as well. In a prior life, I was doing ticket sales as well, which was heavily reliant on cold calls. One of the things that we talked about over there was we had to get on average about 7 to 10 impressions before you get a response back. So for direct mail, one thing which I’ve seen is sending it out, generally speaking, gets actually two impressions.

One. When it’s in the mailbox, but also the other one, especially if a lot of people have Informed Delivery. That’s two impressions right there. And two of the 7 to 10 that helps your chances, right?

JOEL: Right. Because it’s so targeted. Right. And driven, you know, by the data that we do. One, two to response – One or two pieces to get them to respond.
AKASH: Absolutely.
JOEL: Or like you said, you know, it’s the mailbox. The look the view and call. Right?
AKASH: Absolutely. So if you want to learn a little bit more, especially about our target mailing, our creative team has a pretty awesome blog about target leads as well. So definitely check it out on dksmo.com.
