DK Solutions 2023 Tree Planting Program

This April, our team at DK Solutions is proud to announce our 2023 contribution to the Budworm Response Reforestation Project, located in Shoshone National Forest.

As part of our Annual Tree Planting Program, we will work with One Tree Planted to help plant over 2,500 trees to Wyoming’s national forests!

Why A Tree Planting Program?

As a direct mail company, we understand how our campaigns contribute to the high demand for paper in the United States. Even though our TargetList campaigns reduce our overall mail volume, our day-to-day business operations still contribute a fraction to the number of trees cut down every year. 

Co-Founder and CEO Joel Dickstein said, “Here at DK Solutions, using paper in our everyday direct mail campaigns, we wanted to give back to the environment.”

That is why we are so excited to be working with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization dedicated to reforestation across the world! Since 2014, their volunteers have planted over 92,000,000+ trees across 80+ countries.

Not only do they plant new saplings in some of the world’s most at-risk forests, but they also continue monitoring and track the progress these trees have throughout the year. 

This pledge allows us to have a net positive on our world, rather than simply reducing our environmental impact. 

This Year’s Contribution

For 2023, DK Solutions will be contributing to the reforestation in Shoshone National Forest. Several species of native trees will be planned for the area to encourage new growth and improve the local wildlife.

As a NJ business, a Wyoming project may seem a bit far, but our Co-Founder and COO Liran Kapoano has a special connection to this national forest.

As Kapoano states, “Whenever we get involved with conservation it’s nice to be connected to places we’ve been. Like the forest we chose last year, I’ve been to Shoshone and found it to be one of the most beautiful places in the country.”

We look forward to seeing how much our contribution will influence the local communities surrounding the national forest as the Budworm Response Reforest Project kicks off this spring. 

About Last Year’s Contribution

In 2022, DK Solutions contributed to the Flathead National Forest project, located in rural Montana. This project resulted in 46,500 trees planted from the Swan Lake Ranger District to the Griffin Creek Area of Tally Lake District.

Three species of native trees were planted in over 186 hectares of land, including Ponderosa Pine, Western Larch, and Western White Pine.

Future Plans

At the end of 2023, we will once again calculate the number of trees our campaigns used throughout this year. We look to the future with optimism, as every new TargetList is an opportunity to help reach new customers while also improving our country’s beautiful landscape from coast to coast. 

“Obviously our primary goal as a company is to provide excellent service for our clients,” said Kapoano, “but it’s also nice knowing that we are having a positive impact on the planet at the same time.”
